Greetings Umpqua Native Plant Partnership Network,
I’m reaching out with a call to action this November — the month of giving back. This year, I’m asking for your time and labor of love for native plants.
Due to unforeseen funding cuts, I’ve taken on partner planting projects to help keep their restoration work moving forward. This means we now have over 2,000 plugs to get in the ground — and I can’t do it without you!
If you can give even one day (or all four!) during the week of November 10th, we’ll be working five-hour days at the beautiful Elkton Reserve. This is an all-hands-on-deck effort, and we’ll need 10-15 volunteers each day to cover the 2-acre planting area!
Here’s the plan:
Day 1: Remove stakes and move tarps
Day 2: Rake and auger planting areas
Days 3 & 4: Planting and seeding
Please respond to the Doodle poll by Nov. 4th, with the days you’re available. I’ll follow up next week with meeting details, tools to bring, and safety information.
Thank you all for showing up for the plants — your help truly makes a difference in keeping these restoration efforts alive.
With gratitude,
Morgan Fay
